Program

The program has been designed with the Theme - Sustainable Sugarcane Production and its many facets in mind. This means we will have some technical issues, and in-field experiences. To achieve this we will have three days (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) listening to and participating in technical sessions with speakers imparting information and offering an opportunity for participants to ask questions and provide comments.

The other two days we will be visiting irrigated sugarcane production sites in the Dry Tropics, Burdekin - annual rainfall of 925 mm (Tuesday). On Thursday we will be visiting rain-fed sugarcane area in the Moist Tropics, Herbert - annual rainfall of 2,000 mm. The two days will give particpants the opportunity to gain an insight into innovative technologies that have been adopted on-farm in these different environments.

All field tours will travel in special coaches provided and depart from Rydges. Further departure times will be made available in the workshop program.

This page will evolve as abstracts are received and the program is developed.
